This site originally provided useful information about the Pakistani Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic as well as historical background information about the histories of both nations. The website also included economic and demographic facts and statistics for each country.

A significant portion of the site was devoted to information about economic opportunities for foreign investment in the Kyrgyz Republic. The resources provided included information for imports and importing, guarantees of protection and policy regarding foreign investments, and information on the Chambers of Commerce and trade bodies and associations.

According to the information provided at the time, the Law on Foreign Investment of September 1997 governed foreign investment in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Law provided important guarantees and privileges to foreign investors including nondiscrimination and prompt, adequate, and effective compensation in the event of either direct or indirect expropriation.

Under the Law, the government guaranteed to investors the right of repatriation of capital and the right to export profits freely in foreign currency, commodities, goods produced, or services acquired on the open market. The government imposed no restrictions on the conversion of revenue in local currency to foreign currency, including conversion for import purposes or payment against operating expenses. Under the Law, the government permitted investors to retain earned foreign currency with no requirement to convert it into local currency.

The Law on Foreign Investment guaranteed that the treatment of foreign investors would be no less favorable than of Kyrgyz enterprises and entrepreneurs. The same rights and procedures were to apply to both domestic and foreign legal commercial entities.
